International Indigenous Art
Learn about international Indigenous art history from four main geographic designations: Canada, United States, Australia, and New Zealand. The class will be an opportunity to build knowledge and further understanding about innovative Indigenous contemporary arts. Each content area is represented by diverse contemporary artists, works of art and exhibitions.
The instructor, Amber-Dawn Bear Robe, is from Siksika Nation in Alberta, Canada. She is Assistant Faculty of Art History in the Museum Studies department at IAIA. Latest curatorial projects include organizing the annual Indigenous fashion show for the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA).
